Seasonal Vinyasa is a style of dynamic Yoga practice which is designed to align you with the changing energies of nature and the seasons. Students can expect to move and sweat while connecting body and breath in a fun and dynamic class that changes its flow each season. Seasonal flow yoga combines breathing (Pranayama) and mental focus to be able to smoothly "flow" from one posture to the next. Within the seasonal yoga calendar, the year is broken down into six separate segments, Spring, early summer, Summer, late summer, Autumn and Winter. Approximately every six weeks our yoga practice will flow from one season to the next allowing each student enough time to become familiar with a flow sequence without the classes becoming repetitive. A seasonal flow yoga class is a great place to start your yoga journey or an excellent opportunity to developer your yoga practice.
Gentle Vinyasa Flow
This class is great for those who are looking for a slower paced vinyasa with the aim of a more gentle yoga experience. This class creates an opportunity for students to really connect to their breath through a flow of gentle yoga postures. A Gentle Vinyasa Flow class is just like a regular Vinyasa class but slowed down a bit. This class is perfect for beginners, long days or just for giving yourself a little more space to deepen familiar postures in a more forgiving way. You still need to be prepared to move and flow between postures but expect a more gentle experience.
Join Katy each week to work on a different fundamental technique of a strong Vinyasa practice. Each month the focus of this dynamic Vinyasa class will change. We will cover everything from Hip Opening, Shoulders and Core Strength to Twists, Balances and Backbends with four weeks of each.
In this class students can let go of deep layers of hidden stress, remove blockages in the meridian lines and facilitate the balancing of the bodies internal organs and systems. Yin is a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating yoga class open to all levels. Students can expect more passive postures which are held for a longer time, deepening the connection and access to the body.
This powerful, systematic practice consists of a specific and predetermined sequence of postures linking breath and movement leading to a challenging and rewarding practice. The Ashtanga series combines flexibility, strength and stamina and is perfect for those students who have previous yoga experience and who wish to develop a strong personal practice.
Jivamukti yoga is a physical, ethical, and spiritual practice. This Vinyasa-based physical style adheres to five central tenets: shastra (scripture), bhakti (devotion), ahimsa (nonviolence, non-harming), nāda (music), and dhyana (meditation). This open class is welcome to all levels of practitioners and Asana options will be provided for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Students can expect to move and breathe in a dynamic flow and beginners should be aware that not all postures will be explained in detail.
In this class the fundamental postures of a vinyasa class will be explored in a more in-depth and detailed manner. Students can expect to flow and breathe but in a more relaxed way and at a slower pace. This class is perfect for beginners and those students who wish to deepen their own knowledge and practice of the foundational postures that are essential for a rewarding yoga practice and experience.
