Come join Katy for a three hour workshop to help you to learn and strengthen your headstand. 
In this workshop you will learn how to safely and effectively prepare headstand and well as understanding the key mechanisms to help you lift off. We will be exploring several different technique of getting into headstand as well a a few variations to keep you challenged. You can expect a 60 minute Vinyasa flow to warm up the body as well as a gentle yin inspired cool down from after all the upside down time we will be spending together.

With the application of rhythmic pressure, yogic stretching and joint manipulation, blockages can be released and the energy restored to its natural flow.

Seasonal Yoga Teacher Training 2018

The Seasonal Yoga Teacher training course consists of 12 intensive monthly modules with a focus on the Vinyassa practices of Seasonal Flow and Ashtanga Yoga. The course includes training and practice in Yogic philosophy, Asanas (postures), Kriyas (purification techniques), Pranayamas (breathing techniques), Mantra, Anatomy and Physiology, Meditation (including seasonal mediations and the vedantic meditation in the tradition of Ramana Maharishi), the energy systems of the body, Chi Gung and other traditional energy practices.

This 200 hour course is designed to explore Yoga in more depth and includes practical and theoretical work. It is called Seasonal Yoga because we include information on how to harmonise your practice and energy with the outside season, drawing from the Chinese cyclical understanding of nature, to create more of a balance within our lives. Seasonal Yoga uses our understanding of the body’s energy lines, how they affect our organs, vital energy, mood, & mind set, and uses that knowledge to help attune you more to the world around you through your yoga practice, your diet, your breath work, etc. Throughout the training students will study the Chinese and Indian five elements and how they relate to their practice and lifestyle depending on the Season.

You will also gain comprehensive experience in some of the main styles of Hatha yoga (Ashtanga/Vinyasa/ Seasonal Flow/traditional Hatha Yoga/etc), as well as Yoga for special circumstances, chair Yoga, teaching with music, and more. We also cover marketing, N.L.P, how to run your classes, and much more.

The Seasonal Yoga Teacher training course meets and exceeds the National Educational Standards of Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level. You will be a Registered Yoga Teacher upon completion

The year is made up of 12 monthly modules. Mostly all day Saturday and Sunday although there are extra hours required, please see the specific course details for more information on dates and times.

Your Own Development

You are also expected to attend a regular Yoga class during the course, with a teacher of your choice. Also, you will begin a personal practice in your everyday life, this may be yoga asanas, energy flow work, meditation, pranayama, or simply learning to breath deeply when you are driving your car to bring mindfulness to your life, whatever we find best suits your lifestyle.

There will be reading throughout the year, to help inspire.

You will be given learning outcomes at the beginning of the course which allows you to map your own progress and achievements throughout the course.

At the end of the training you will not only be qualified to teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga but will also have the tools to create other types of Yoga class, such as more basic classes or more restorative Yoga.

The Art of Adjustment - 40 hour training for Yoga Teachers

In the past 10 years thousands of yoga practitioners underwent a basic Yoga Teacher Training in which they could deepen their knowledge and experience. Obviously it is not possible to learn every aspect of this art, science and philosophy in a 200 or 500-hour training. Yoga is an ongoing, lifelong education. It takes a lot of self-practice and teaching experience to build confidence and certainty in order to become a Teacher.

From our own observations in classes, workshops and teacher trainings we have come to realize that there is a major lack of knowledge in how to adjust and assist yoga students. This is why we would like to share our knowledge and give everybody the opportunity to deepen ones experience in order to approach the student with confidence.

Correct adjustment brings stability, ease and awareness to the students’ practice. All adjustments are unique. You know where the student should be, but how they get there is an expression of their specific limitations in the moment. Tune into them. With experience, you will learn how to harmonize with the students so your innate bodily wisdom can contact and awaken theirs. This comes with practice, faith and the confidence that comes with time. Remember every adjustment is new and should be approached with a beginner’s mind. The deeper your practice has taken you into the subtleties of alignment and your own body, the easier this will be. Your self-practice will continuously tune your intuition. Consider the impact of an adjustment on the whole being of the student. Remember that perfection in the pose is not about quantity of movement, or even quality of line. It is about the student using their capability to the fullest, whatever their limitations may be. Do not push students’ bodies or minds beyond their limits. Be aware of how much trust you have available from them at all times.

In this 40 hour Adjustment training we will be exploring both the physical and verbal adjustments for a long list of postures often found in a vinyasa class. Each day we will begin with a Vinyasa Flow to warm us all up then we will break down each posture and learn the safe way to assist by practicing on each other in a Posture Circus. We will be covering forward folds, backbends, balances and inversions so prepare for a long, intense but highly informative TWO FULL WEEKENDS ! 

Katy and Christian will both be teaching and assisting giving you different approaches to the ways in which you can adjust an asana.

Die insbesondere bei Männern oft verkürzte Muskulatur wird gedehnt, Sehnen und Bänder gestärkt und der Gleichgewichtssinn trainiert. The Warrior Workshop is an intensive practice on the three Warrior poses Virabhadrasana I, II and III.

All three yoga poses are physically demanding standing poses which require a laser-like focus to master a complex set of actions: 
- Grounding down with firm legs and feet while elevating the chest to lift up
- Centring the spine while spreading the arms
- Meeting physical challenges with smooth breath and willpower

IN THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL LEARN about the composition and relation of those diverse movements.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Be prepared to build these three poses from scratch.
- Explore the physical dimension of each pose and understand its dynamics.
- Observe your own postural patterns.

AcroYoga is a dynamic partner practice that blends the wisdom of Yoga, the dynamic power of Acrobatics, and the loving kindness of healing arts. It’s not only a great way to stretch, strengthen and cultivate balance in our bodies but it is also a wonderful way to connect and grow with others. It typically involves at least three people: a base, a flyer, and a spotter, and each role is equally important. It brings people together, through human connection, touch and play!

During this workshop we will learn the FUNdamentals of AcroYoga, go upside down and build trust and confidence. To cool down we will invite the Lunar practice by a short ThaiMassage sequence.

In the past 10 years thousands of yoga practitioners underwent a basic Yoga Teacher Training in which they could deepen their knowledge and experience. Obviously it is not possible to learn every aspect of this art, science and philosophy in a 200 or 500-hour training. Yoga is an ongoing, lifelong education. It takes a lot of self-practice and teaching experience to build confidence and certainty in order to become a Teacher.

From our own observations in classes, workshops and teacher trainings we have come to realize that there is a major lack of knowledge in how to adjust and assist yoga students. This is why we would like to share our knowledge and give everybody the opportunity to deepen ones experience in order to approach the student with confidence.

Correct adjustment brings stability, ease and awareness to the students’ practice. All adjustments are unique. You know where the student should be, but how they get there is an expression of their specific limitations in the moment. Tune into them. With experience, you will learn how to harmonize with the students so your innate bodily wisdom can contact and awaken theirs. This comes with practice, faith and the confidence that comes with time. Remember every adjustment is new and should be approached with a beginner’s mind. The deeper your practice has taken you into the subtleties of alignment and your own body, the easier this will be. Your self-practice will continuously tune your intuition. Consider the impact of an adjustment on the whole being of the student. Remember that perfection in the pose is not about quantity of movement, or even quality of line. It is about the student using their capability to the fullest, whatever their limitations may be. Do not push students’ bodies or minds beyond their limits. Be aware of how much trust you have available from them at all times.

In this training will be exploring both the physical and verbal adjustments for a long list of postures often found in a vinyasa class. Each day we will begin with a Vinyasa Flow to warm us all up then we will break down each posture and learn the safe way to assist by practicing on each other in a Posture Circus. We will be covering forward folds, backbends, balances and inversions so prepare for a long, intense but highly informative 5 days! Katy and Christian will both be teaching and assisting giving you different approaches to the ways in which you can adjust an asana.

This course is designed for Yoga Teachers and Teachers to be. We will be exploring the wonderful world of adjustments in Vinyasa Yoga. 

This course is only available for Yoga Teachers and those participating in a teacher training. 

This course will satisfy the Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (CE) Contact Hours.This course is being facilitated by Katy Scherer an E-RYT 200 and YACEP registered Yoga teacher who specialises in Dynamic and Seasonal Vinyasa. 

Cost for this CPD will be 150 euros.

All The Vinyasa People teachers and those participating in the Seasonal Yoga Teacher training will receive a 50 euro discount. 



Day 1:

Introduction to adjustments and ethics. 

One hour Vinyasa Flow to warm up.

Adjusting the basic standing postures: Upward facing dog, Downward facing dog, Chaturanga, Trikonasana, Parivrtta Trikonasana, Parsvakonasana, Prasarita padottanasana variations, Warrior 1 and warrior 2.

Adjusting the basic balances: Tree, Utthita Hasta Padagunsasanana, shoulderstand and Navasana.

Practicing the Adjustments. You will be partnered up during a short Vinyasa Sequence. Here you will partnered with a fellow student and will take turn being the students, and the one giving the adjustments.

Day 2:

One hour Vinyasa Flow to warm up. 

Adjusting Urdhva Dhanurasana and its variations. 

Adjusting the basic seated postures: Paschimottanasana, Janu Sirsasana A, Marichyasana A and C, Purvottanasana.

Adjusting Savasana. How to create a Luxury Savasana experience. 

Practicing the Adjustments. You will be partnered up during a short Vinyasa Sequence. Here you will partnered with a fellow student and will take turn being the students, and the one giving the adjustments.

This is ideal if you are completely new to yoga or just beginning to practice. The course will be covering elements of Philosophy, yoga styles, - Pranayama (Breathing),- Bandhas (Internal Locks) ,Asanas (Postures) with special focus on correct alignment and Meditation. Each week you will be building on what you have learnt the week before and you will receive handouts each week.

Yoga can lead us to a path of listening- inner listening what is good and helpful for us, individually. There is no path that fits for all. That has never been so true as for nutrition. Today everyone seems to have the BEST and ONLY recipe what and how to eat. We don’t. We have something better: A yogi’s way of life of inner listening what is nurturing for our bodies and brains, for our emotions and skin. We believe: Food should be fresh and local, it should be fun and fulfilling to work with the ingredients.
In this 3,5hrs workshop we will show you what it means to look at food honestly. What you see is what you get. Instead of grasping in the supermarket for already prepared food we will make our own. We start with the art of making almond milk and what to do with the pulp. We will continue to make simple but nourishing raw balls with the ingredients you like. Then we will go into our bodies with yoga asanas and simple but intense movements on our mats. Our body helps to clean us naturally, every day. We can help it to do that without being extreme about cleansing.
Then we finally will eat and drink what we prepared. We will come together and sit together – which is nurturing, too. You will have enough time to question us about healthy living food and enjoy your homemade food.
Cost is 50 euros. Minimum of 8 students required :)
