Perhaps you have heard the mantra Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. Translated from Sanskrit, it means "May all beings experience happiness and harmony" or "May all living beings everywhere be happy and free. May my actions, thoughts and words contribute in some form to the happiness and freedom of all." For us, this mantra is part of our philosophy and culture. We want everyone around us to do well - whether it's people, animals or our environment.

That's why we founded our Charity Program with our sister company Yin Nation. In the last few years, we have organised activities or events and donated the proceeds. We came up with the idea that we would like to donate over the whole year and that we want to create a long lasting relationship with partners.
And why shouldn't we give you the opportunity to become a part of it?

We have chosen four organizations whose issues are particularly close to our hearts: We want to stand up for children, women, animals and the environment - all issues are important. On this page you can find out which organizations we support and why we chose these charities.

Operation Shanti

Operation Shanti, based in Mysore, India, was founded on the belief that every child should have the chance to fulfill their potential in life. Since 2005, they have been helping the poorest in Mysore with many different projects, such as providing street children with permanent housing and access to education, providing medical care and food to families living on the streets, and distributing care packages to destitute families facing medical hardship.

It is undoubtedly one of the most important concerns for us to support and help the most vulnerable. We have been following and supporting the work of Operation Shanti for many years. Katy, the founder of TVP has personally visited Operation Shanti's center. With your support, we can see the goals and good work of Operation Shanti continue to progress and grow.

Frauenhaus Bonn B.V.

For almost 40 years, the women's shelter in Bonn has been a place to go for women who have been physically and/or emotionally abused and threatened by their partners or fathers. In the women’s shelter, women find counselling and protection for themselves, their children and fellow victims. According to the UN, violence against women is still one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world, going largely undetected due to impunity, silence, stigma and shame.

As a company that is currently made up entirely of women, this issue is particularly close to our hearts. We want to support those who cannot live and dwell without fear. The donation goes to those affected in the women's shelter who need financial or emotional support.

Ananda Animal Sanctuary

Founded in 2019, Ananda Animal Sanctuary aims to free animals from suffering and extinction. They rescue as many farm animals as possible, offering them sanctuary and housing them on their farm in Biggar, Scotland. They hope to foster a connection with farm animals like sheep and pigs, and show that they all have their own personalities that deserve respect and compassion. Many of the farm's residents have been rescued from slaughter or neglect or are unwanted pets and are allowed to live their lives to the fullest at Ananda.

It's no secret that we at Yin Nation and The Vinyasa People are particularly big animal lovers, and with a majority vegetarian or vegan team, we are fully behind Ananda's version of a world full of compassionate beings who do not enslave, torture and kill other animals.

OroVerde - Die Tropenwaldstiftung

OroVerde means "green gold" in Spanish. It refers to the tropical rainforests, for which the organization OroVerde has been working for over 30 years. In tropical forest protection projects, OroVerde combines nature conservation and development cooperation in such a way that forest protection and sustainable development go hand in hand. In its educational work and through knowledge transfer, OroVerde shows what citizens, politics and business can contribute to the protection of the rainforests and initiates a change towards a sustainable society.

The rainforest is one of the tipping elements that can throw the world's climate out of balance. For us as an international company, preserving the world we live in is very close to our hearts. This is exactly why we want to support OroVerde from Bonn in their project, because climate change affects every one of us.

How do we want to support the organizations?

Our goal is to raise funds in a variety of ways and then split them equally among the four charities. Here you can find out which ways we offer and how you can help:

  • Our monthly Kirtan classes are donation based and at least half of the proceeds go towards the program. (the other half to another chosen charity)

  • We will be hosting charity yoga classes with all proceeds going to the program.
